Hi all! Just a month ago I had a great joy: I was finally connected to the Internet using GPON technology, that is, fiber optic. Of course, this is a serious event for any computer geek, since completely new possibilities and speeds open up.

But after the first emotions, naturally, I wanted to optimize the new equipment for myself, so the next series of articles will sound like this - correct setting up a ByFly router. And we will consider everything using the example of the MT-PON-AT-4 terminal model.

After all, it is during the initial start that the router and the new one are activated telephone number, which you definitely get when switching from old to modern GPON. Therefore, there is little point in describing in detail the diagram of the physical connection of the cables; consider everything yourself after the technician leaves.

Better yet, let's take a closer look at the modem login and the settings themselves. Specifically, in this article we will figure out where you need to enter your name and login so that you can generally access the Internet. That is, now we will analyze the operating mode, which is called Router(router).

So, to ensure everything works out for sure, let’s now connect the computer to the ByFly router itself using a network cable. The main thing to remember here is that by default only the “LAN1 -LAN3” connectors are enabled.

The thing is that the fourth port (LAN4) was initially reserved for the needs of Zala television and therefore it is useless to connect to it. And to understand which number is which, you need to pay attention to the corresponding markings on the device body.

Parameters network card When you connect your computer for the first time, it is recommended to set it to automatically obtain IP addresses. I told you about this in more detail in the article about organization. After that, open any browser on your PC and enter the value " 192.168.100.1 " without quotes .

The MT-PON-AT-4 modem authorization window will open. The standard login (Username) and password (Password) is the word " admin" without quotes. After entering it, we get into the administrative part of the router and immediately move along the path " Network-WAN-WAN Connection " .

Then in the column " Connection Name " You should select an entry with a name like "omci_ipv4_pppoe" . The key piece here is the prefix " ppoe" . It is she who says that this is an account for connecting the modem to the Internet in Bridge mode.

All that remains is in the columns " Username " And " Password " Enter the data from the subscription service agreement. Please note that this login and password should not be confused with those that we entered when logging into the modem. These are fundamentally different parameters.

In this case, the login will look like " 159хххххххх@beltel.by", where x are your specific values from the contract that you signed at the ByFly customer service point when you parted with your hard-earned money for the technician to come to your home to connect.

Well, in general, that’s all. The remaining parameters can be left unchanged, everything should work as is. All you have to do is go to the very bottom of the settings window and press the button " Modify " to save changes. to more readable. The graph will help us with this " New Connection Name " . And of course, don’t forget about the button at the end " Modify " .

At this step, friends, the article comes to an end. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments. We will solve pressing issues together. And in conclusion, as always, let's watch a very interesting video.

Having replaced the modem or connected to the services of a new operator, we are faced with the need to set up a Wi-Fi connection. You can call the service technical support, or you can try to set up Wi-Fi on ByFly yourself, which is what we suggest doing using our instructions.

Calling Beltelecom technical support (especially in the evening on weekdays) can be a very time-consuming undertaking. In those 10-15 minutes that you are “hanging on the wire”, the long-awaited Wi-Fi can already be configured using our instructions.

1 Setting up a network card

After you have connected the modem to the network and the PC to the modem using a network cable, you can proceed to setting up the network card.

1.1.1 To configure a network card in Windows 7, you need to click the “Start” button, go to the “Control Panel”, and in the window that opens, select “Network and Internet” - “Network and Sharing Center” shared access».

1.1.2 In the new window you need to select “Change adapter settings”. On the “Connect via local network» you need to right-click. In the dialog that opens, select “Properties”.

1.1.4 In the IP address line you must enter the values 192.168.1.2, if you use several computers to connect, then the numbers that you put in the last column in the IP address line should not match.

1.1.5 In the next line, “Subnet mask” should be determined by itself. Its value is 255.255.255.0. The next line is “Default gateway”, enter 192.168.1.1.

1.1.6 All that remains is to enter the DNS server addresses (depending on your place of residence). You can find them on the website byfly.by in the “Customers” section. For Minsk and the Minsk region, enter 82.209.240.241 in the “Preferred DNS server” line, and 82.209.243.241 in the alternative DNS server line.

After all the fields are filled in, click “Ok”. In the previous window (“Local Area Connection - Properties”), click “Close”, and also close the window with network connections.

1.2 Windows 8 and Windows 10

1.2.1 On the computer icon (at the bottom of the screen), right-click and select “Network and Sharing Center”. Next (in the left part of the window) select “Change adapter settings”, right-click on the “Ethernet” shortcut and click “Properties”.

1.2.2 As in the case of setting up a network card in Windows 7, select the line Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click the “Properties” button. Next, fill in the fields in the window that opens. Data for this is in paragraphs 1.1.4-1.1.6 of our instructions.

1.2.3 After all the settings have been entered, click the “Ok” button and close the unnecessary windows.

1.3.1 For Windows users XP settings are slightly different: “Start” - “Control Panel” - “Network Connections”. Next, right-click on the “Local Area Connections” shortcut and select “Properties”. In the “Components used by this connection” window, select “TCP/IP Internet Protocol” and click the “Properties” button.

1.3.3 After all parameters have been entered, click “Ok” and close the previous windows.

2. Setting up the modem

The next step in setting up wireless connection there will be a modem setup. Here your actions may differ depending on the modem model you received from your operator.

However, for any modem, the setup begins with a browser window in which you need to enter the address 192.168.1.1. Next, in the window that appears, enter the user name and password (admin, admin) and click the “Ok” button. And we find ourselves in a window with the modem interface.

When setting up most modems, the common thing is that the user needs to make settings in the connections menu (Wireless). The standard steps when setting up a modem will be to enter the network name (make up your own) in the SSID line and the password to log into it (the line may have the name Pre-Shared Key, passphrase).

For some models of Huawei modems, you must first click on the “Basic” button on the right side of the modem interface, and in some models you must go to the WLAN tab. Often Huawei modems need to be additionally switched to “Activated” mode. You need to come up with and enter a password that you will use to connect to Wi-Fi in your home or office. The new modem settings must be saved (Save or Submit buttons).

In ZTE modems, to proceed to setting up the connection, you may need to go to the Network – WLAN – Multi SSID Settings tab. Next, in ZTE modems you need to check the “Enable SSID” line, and enter an arbitrary name of your network in the Name SSID line. After saving the settings (Submit button), you need to go to the security settings (Security button on the right side of the interface of ZTE modems from ByFly). In the WPA Passphrase line, delete the standard password and enter your own, which we will use to connect to Wi-Fi. Save the settings (Submit button) and exit the modem interface (Logout button in the upper right browser window).

If you want to use Wi-Fi not only on mobile devices and laptops, but also on desktop computer using a Wi-Fi adapter, then to set up Wi-Fi you will need to perform one more step.

After the connection is completed (the corresponding dialog box disappears), you need to disconnect the network cable from the PC.

Important for any OS. If the modem is in Bridge mode, then to connect to the network you need to additionally run PPPoE connection indicating your login and password.

The Internet opened up a limitless space of information to people, but there was still more to come: wireless networks operating using the Wireless Fidelity standard, better known as WiFi, became a real breakthrough. In order to take advantage of the WiFi benefits of the ByFly telecom operator, you need to purchase a special adapter or modem with WiFi support and perform the following settings (using the Promsvyaz M-200A modem as an example).

Connect the modem to your computer or laptop using a cable. In your browser's address bar, type 192.168.1.1, then press Enter. Next, a window should appear asking for a login and password - as a rule, you need to enter the word Admin in both fields. If your computer doesn't respond or ask for a password, your network connection may need to be configured. This can be done through the Control Panel: for Windows 7 - in the "Change adapter settings" section of the Network and Sharing Center, and for Windows XP - in the "Network Connections" section. Check the properties of the network connection - in the line “TCP/IP protocol parameter” (Internet Protocol for Windows 7), the function of automatically obtaining an IP address must be enabled. The next step is to configure the modem in router mode. It's not difficult, you will need to enter several parameters according to the instructions and the contract for connecting to the Internet. So, from the Interface Setup menu, select Internet section. Next, carefully enter the required parameters: in the Encapsulation field, activate the PPPoA/PPPoE item for the ISP parameter. Then, in the PPPoA/PPPoE field, fill in the Username and Password columns - this is exactly the information that is contained in your agreement with the telecom operator. Next, set the Bridge Interface to Activated and Default Route to Yes. Check that the data you entered is correct and click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.

Now all that remains is to configure the WiFi access point. Find the Interface Setup menu again and select the Wireless section. To activate the WiFi option, you need to set the PerSSID Switch parameter to Activated. Think about what name and password you want to set for your network and enter them in the SSID and Pre-Shared Key fields respectively. Please note that the password must consist of Latin characters and contain at least 8 characters. To make using WiFi secure, set the values WPA-PSK in the Authentication Type column and TKIP in the Encryption column. Click Save after all settings have been completed. Now you can use the Internet without connecting a cable within the range of your router.

If you made a mistake during the settings process or the modem settings are unavailable, try returning to the factory settings - to do this, hold the Reset button on the modem body for a few seconds, and then perform all the steps from the first step.

ByFly trademark Beltelecom company, which provides Internet access. The company offers its customers to configure the network with the help of technical support. However, sometimes waiting in line can last for several hours.

You can establish access to the network yourself. Setting up WI-FI on ByFly takes only a few minutes. The main thing is to know how to do it. We hope that our article will help you configure your network card and router to access wireless Internet.

Personal account

IN Personal account You can pay for Internet services and view the status of your personal account. To enter your account you need to enter your username and password. Login is the contract number; the password must be specified in the contract. The password can be changed.

In the Personal Account, Beltelecom clients have access to information on the settings of routers of various models. This describes in detail how to configure a computer's network card on different operating systems and the procedure for connecting to Wi-Fi.

Setting up ByFly Internet. Connecting to Beltelecom wifi. All the necessary settings for the modem from Beltelecom are described here: for the modem to operate in ByFly router mode - the Internet works automatically immediately (without connecting through a shortcut), it becomes possible to connect several computers (laptops, phones, tablets) at once - thus creating a home wireless network, to set up a Wi-Fi connection where the modem itself acts as the access point.
To set up, we need a working computer, laptop, netbook, without viruses, a modem (aka router and Wi-Fi access point) Promsvyaz and a network cable (included), connected Internet service By Fly.

Descriptions of connecting modems, wireless access points D-Link, Zyxel, setting up the Promsvyaz M-101a modem in ByFly router mode are not covered in this article.

To correctly configure ByFly Internet and wi-fi connection necessary:
- connect the cable to the network port of the computer (laptop) 2 or 3 port of the modem.
- turn on the power in the computer, laptop and modem. Wait full load system on the computer and initialization of the modem-router.
- it is advisable to remove the old antivirus (especially if it is not updated - it may block). Sometimes you have to reinstall Windows, since the main problem is often not the modem, but a virus-ridden computer, and the Internet does not work, it works slowly and with interruptions precisely because of this.
- launch OPERA browser,IE.
- enter the numbers (without spaces) into the address bar: 192.168.1.1 (this is the address of our ByFly modem on the network).
- press ENTER.

Enter in both windows (password and user): admin (5 letters in English).
We get into the modem interface.

Click the Interface Setup tab. We go to the Interface Setup tab and the Internet subtab.
Everything should be like in the picture below.

You need to change the fields: username (in the Beltelecom agreement - the user), password (in the agreement this is the password) and Bridge Interface. We check if the Default Route checkbox is active and is set to YES.
Click SAVE.
Click the LAN tab. You don’t need to change anything here (DNS servers will rise automatically!)
Or as in the picture for the city of Minsk. We transfer the DNS Relay to the USED USER DESCOVERED DNS state (use user-defined DNS servers - indicate for your region, in the figure DNS By Fly for Minsk.)

If changed, click SAVE.
If you are using a modem as wired router(i.e. you don't need w-fi) further setting up By Fly internet not required, not only that, it is also undesirable. Activating the wi-fi module in the modem will make the device a source of radio interference, electromagnetic radiation (not good for health), and a “back door” for an attacker.
Click the Wireless tab. This is the wireless wi-fi connection setup for By Fly.

We change only what is indicated by the arrows in the picture.
We activate the wi-fi module in the router (it can be disabled by default - the menu items are not active).
As a rule, you need to put the point in the Activated position in the Access Point Settings menu.
Be sure to change the Pre-Shared Key item. This is your password to log into your wi-fi network. For convenience, change the SSID - this is the name of your network, make it unique so that you can recognize it. Call it (for example) BIGMAN (English layout is required), or in your own way.
Click SAVE.
The modem is ready for operation. Disconnect the network cable from the computer (laptop) to check wi-fi works(if necessary).
We turn on the wi-fi card on the laptop - look for the network (as specified in the SSID). Click connect, enter the password that you entered during setup in the Pre-Shared Key item.
Everything should work. If your computer or laptop does not display the network, the driver for the network card may not be installed, or there may be other problems.
Thus to our wireless network, and also through a cable you can connect a sufficient number of devices at the same time, which will work with the Internet connection without interfering with each other.
