This short material is entirely dedicated to the entry-level smartphone “Samsung 7262”. Characteristics, hardware software capabilities, reviews of owners about it, as well as the opinion of experts - this is what will be discussed in detail within the framework of the article brought to your attention.

What's included in the package

The Samsung 7262 cannot boast of anything unusual in terms of equipment. The operating instructions for the gadget with a warranty card are a complete list of documentation in the box of this device. In addition to the smartphone itself, the package includes the following accessories:

  • Battery with a capacity of 1500 mAh.
  • Standard stereo headset.
  • Adapter for charging the battery.
  • Cord for connecting to a personal computer.

As expected, the package does not include a flash card, which must be purchased separately. A similar situation with protective film and a cover.

Appearance and ease of use

In terms of form factor, this device is a monoblock with support for touch input. Otherwise, this is a typical representative of the Galaxy line of this South Korean manufacturer. The second name of this smart phone model is “Galaxy Star Plus”. So there is nothing special about the similar design of the device. Its volume rocker is located on the left edge, and the lock button is on the right. Under the screen there are three classic ones. As with most devices of this brand, two of them are touchscreen (they are located at the edges), and one, the central one, is mechanical. The Samsung 7262 phone has the following dimensions: length is 121.2 mm, width is 62.7 mm, and thickness is 10.6 mm. Moreover, its weight is 121 g. In general, this is a typical representative of the entry-level smart phone segment. It cannot boast of anything special compared to its competitors, nor does it have any special flaws.

CPU

As a computing heart of this device The processor is based on the Cortex A5 architecture with one core. Maximum possible clock frequency it is 1 GHz, at which it operates at the time of peak load. As can be seen from everything said earlier, the CPU is very weak in the Samsung 7262 mobile phone. The characteristics given earlier allow it to cope with most everyday tasks today: watching videos in the format “*.avi”, “*.mpeg4” or “*.3zhp”, playing audio recordings, reading books, browsing Internet sites or simple games. But HD and higher quality videos or complex 3D games will definitely not work on it.

Graphics subsystem

There is no separate graphics adapter in this smart phone model. Its role is fulfilled. As a result, the hardware platform leaves much to be desired for the Samsung 7262. Its characteristics are already not very good, but here they also load it with graphics. The display diagonal of this device is 4 inches. It is built on the basis of a TFT sensor. The picture quality is not satisfactory, but the viewing angles are significantly smaller than those of devices with an IPS matrix. The screen resolution is 800 x 480. The pixel density is normal, and it is quite difficult to distinguish them with the eye. The number of reflected shades is an acceptable 16 million. Otherwise, this is a fairly high-quality display based on touch technology.

Camera

The Samsung 7262 has only one main camera. Its characteristics and reviews are unanimous: its quality is below average. Not surprising, since it is based on a 2 MP sensor element. At the same time, any additional options that can significantly improve the quality of the resulting image are not implemented in the smartphone. There is also no LED backlight, and, as a result, photography on this device can only be done in normal lighting conditions. With video recording the situation is even worse. Only 15 frames per second at a resolution of 240 x 320 is very little today. The quality of the videos is very poor.

Memory

It’s quite difficult to say how much RAM this gadget has. According to the documentation it should be 512 MB, but according to test results it turns out that this number decreases and amounts to 460 MB. But here we need to remember that there is no separate video card in this smartphone. Its functions are performed CPU. Well, it turns out that 52 MB is reserved for the operation of the device’s graphics subsystem. The remaining 460 MB are approximately 60-70 percent occupied system processes. As a result, only 100-120 MB are allocated for the user's needs. Somehow it doesn’t work out enough, and it won’t be possible to increase this value. The capacity of the built-in storage is 4 GB. About half of them are occupied operating system. In turn, 2 GB is allocated for the user’s needs. This is only enough to install the software. But there will be nowhere to store music or photos. The ideal solution in this case is to install an external drive, and this device has a corresponding slot. The maximum capacity of a memory card can be 32 GB - this is exactly how much the Samsung 7262 can “see”. The settings of the memory subsystem must be made so that internal memory was used to install application software, and external storage was completely occupied with the user’s personal data (music, photos, books and films).

Battery and autonomy

This smartphone is equipped with a 1500 mAh battery. This seems to be not enough for today. But, on the other hand, it has a processor with 1 core, no graphics adapter and a small display diagonal of 4 inches. All this in total, with an average level of use, allows this gadget to last 3-4 days on one. If you use this device to the maximum, then this value will decrease to 1-2 days. But in energy saving mode it can last for 5 days.

Software part

The software environment of this smart phone is based on very outdated version"Android" with serial number 4.1. Of course, this is not entirely good, but, on the other hand, there should be no problems. The proprietary TouchWiz shell, which is equipped with all Samsung smartphones, is installed on top of the operating system. Because of this, their prices are higher than those of similar devices, but their functionality also improves significantly. Otherwise, the software set is quite familiar: social clients, a set of utilities from Google and standard built-in applications.

Communications

This device has a standard, familiar, as for an entry-class device, set of interfaces. The Samsung 7262 smartphone cannot boast of anything unusual in this regard. And the list is as follows:

  • The main interface for receiving and sending information on the Internet is Wi-Fi. It allows you to receive and transmit data at a speed of 150 Mbit/s. This allows you to download high quality movies in minutes. With all other daily tasks (watching online videos, Internet sites or communicating in social networks) this also makes it easy to handle.
  • This smart phone has 2 slots for installing SIM cards. They work in alternating mode. That is, during a conversation on one of them, the second is automatically out of the access zone. You can solve the problem by reconfiguring the call forwarding system. The device is equipped with a module for working only in second generation networks, that is, there is no support for 3G and LTE in this device. Hence, the peak transmission of information with such a connection can reach 500 kbit/s. In reality, this value is several times smaller and is about 100 kbit/s.
  • Another important way data exchange is Bluetooth. Its main task is to exchange data with similar mobile devices, but a secondary one is to connect a wireless headset to the smartphone (of course, you will have to buy it separately).
  • A 3.5 mm audio port allows you to output sound from this gadget to an external one. The stereo headset that comes with the kit is far from the best quality and it is better to immediately purchase other headphones with more high quality sound.
  • The last important wired interface is microUSB. Its main task is to charge the battery. But it can also be used to connect to a computer or to connect an external battery with increased capacity to the device.

Opinion of the owners of this device and experts

The opinions of experts and owners agree on many things regarding the Samsung 7262. Characteristics and reviews highlight a number of shortcomings in this device. Among them we can highlight a small amount of RAM, frankly speaking, a weak processor and no camera at all. This list goes on and on. All this, in theory, should be compensated by the affordable cost of the gadget. But like all Samsung smartphones, the prices for this device are inflated. It currently costs $55. At the same time, its Chinese analogue with the best configuration will cost 45-50 dollars. Hence the problems in the production department mobile phones and smartphones from the South Korean giant.

Total

This is how ambiguous the Samsung 7262 turned out to be. Its characteristics are very modest, the price is slightly inflated. But still, this smart phone will definitely find its buyer. Moreover, its hardware and software resources are sufficient to solve most everyday problems.

Star Plus, which is reviewed in this article, has become one of the most successful budget models from this South Korean manufacturer. The device is a prime example of a case where quality does not suffer from relatively low cost. The phone is devoid of characteristics familiar to modern consumers, such as Availability of GPS and 3G, but you shouldn’t rush to consider such a fee too high.

Appearance

The model is a candy bar with a reliably assembled case, where there is no play in the back cover, and the keys move quite quietly. The buyer is offered a choice of white and black versions of the phone. The weight of the device is 121 grams. On the left side there is a familiar one, while on the opposite edge there is a button for turning on, locking and unlocking, as well as a recess that makes it much easier to remove the cover. At the top there is a jack for connecting headphones to the device, and at the bottom there is a tiny microphone hole and USB port. As for the back panel, you can see the camera lens on it. The slots for the main speaker are also located here. Under the battery, manufacturers have placed two slots for installing SIM cards.

Screen

Overall, the four-inch display is considered one of the most significant advantages Samsung smartphone Galaxy Star Plus. Reviews from its owners indicate that watching videos and photographs, visiting various Internet resources and simply communicating on social networks using it is quite pleasant. The screen has a resolution of 800x480 pixels. The manufacturing company remained true to its traditions, so it equipped the device with a TFT display, which is strikingly clear and rich. Due to it, about 16 million colors are displayed quite realistically.

Main Features

Star Plus operates in the operating room Android system 4.1. Thanks to the easy and well-thought-out interface controls, even those users who have never dealt with smartphones before can master it. The phone has a Spreadtrum single-chip system with a processor core operating at a frequency of 1 GHz. Thanks to the use of a video accelerator, even 3D games launch and run without any difficulties. The device has 4 GB of built-in and 512 MB of RAM. If necessary (and it will certainly arise), the user can install an additional memory card (maximum 32 GB).

Two SIM cards

The model has become almost ideal solution for people who prefer to separate phone calls for personal and work matters, as well as for those who want to use the services of several mobile operators in order to save money. Among the many advantages of the Samsung Galaxy Star Plus model, the “Dual Sim Always On” function should be highlighted. Its essence lies in the fact that during a telephone conversation using one of the SIM cards, the second remains active. Moreover, the user of the device has the ability to switch between his interlocutors during a conversation.

Photo and video

The gadget has only one camera. By modern standards, its performance is considered more than just modest - it has a resolution of two megapixels and is not equipped with a flash. In addition, the smartphone cannot be used for shooting at night. Video shooting in the device is carried out at a frequency of fifteen frames per second, and the resolution of the videos is 720x480 pixels. In general, the Samsung Galaxy Star Plus phone is only suitable for amateur shots that are quite suitable for posting on social networks.

Battery

The device uses a replaceable lithium ion battery, whose capacity is 150 mAh. If you actively use your smartphone (lots of conversations, games and the Internet), you will have to charge it every day. It takes about three hours to fully charge it. According to representatives of the manufacturer, in standby mode Samsung model Galaxy Star Plus is capable of operating for about 370 hours. In case of continuous conversation, the phone will be completely discharged after 15 hours, and if you only listen to music, the charge will last for about one day.

Conclusions

To summarize, it should be noted that in general the device can be safely called a budget and stylish smartphone, which is great for both entertainment and work. Thanks to its relatively small dimensions, the model fits perfectly in the hand. Understand the controls Samsung phone Galaxy Star Plus can easily even inexperienced users. Two slots for installing SIM cards allow each model owner to independently select their own optimal tariffs and mobile operators. The only thing here that is far from being at the highest level is the camera, so for those who like to take photographs, purchasing a model will not be a very successful idea. Be that as it may, for those who are looking for an inexpensive device with optimal characteristics, experts recommend taking a closer look at this particular smartphone.

When we decided to take the Samsung Galaxy Star Plus gt-s7262 for a test, we expected to see an outdated monster that could not be “trained”; in fact, the phone turned out to be pleasant with its advantages, but also, of course, disadvantages. I was pleased with the presence of two SIM cards, the presence of GPS, sane software and, of course, a wide screen, although not of the best quality, but still with good color rendering, the eyes did not get tired of the screen. In general, the phone does not fly, a weak processor prevents this from happening and RAM, if you are going to play modern toys, buy yourself another smartphone, the sound in the headphones is not the best, but not the worst, for the price the device costs, we’ll even say good. The battery is weak, although the consumption of the Samsung Galaxy Star Plus gt-s7262 is small, but still the capacity is 1500 units, this is not enough, although a full day can go without charging even using the device to its fullest. And, most importantly, there is no 3G support, think about it, but there is Wi-Fi.

A phone is simply needed to make calls and surf the Internet via Wi-Fi, but if you need a workhorse that you don’t mind at all, then a phone will do just fine. You’re not going to take option E as an additional option, either, and if you don’t have money for the device, it’s the worst. In general, a good price/quality ratio.

Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy Star Plus gt-s7262 is the best choice for a spare/work/child phone. The smartphone has most of the qualities that are claimed on more expensive models, and at the same time, it is inexpensive. You can even say with confidence that its price is why the demand for the model is exactly what it is. Regarding the minuses, a phone for 90 dollars cannot but have them; it would probably be wrong that the cheapest device on the market (one of the cheapest) is equipped with the characteristics of the brand’s flagship. Let's add that the smartphone has a good design and award a prize for the most reasonable purchase of the year. The phone is suitable for its purposes, no matter what they say.
