There are billions of such addresses. Each one contains some information. On one are recipes, on another are videos, on the third is news... It turns out to be a huge pile of addresses, each with some kind of content.

And how to find the necessary information among them?! Search engines will help us with this. Or, more simply, search engines. These are special directory sites. The principle of operation is simple: you open the address of a search engine site, type on it what you want to find on the Internet, and press the “Enter” button on the keyboard. Literally in a second search engine will scour the entire Internet and show those sites that have what you are looking for.

That is, in order to work on the Internet (find and download information, communicate, etc.), you only need to know one or two search engine addresses.

Yandex (yandex.ru)

Let's start with the Yandex search engine, since it is a Russian search engine aimed primarily at Russian-speaking people.

To open it, you need to type in English letters address yandex.ru in the top line of the browser and press the Enter button on the keyboard.

Left-click inside this strip (on the white line) and type in Russian what you want to find on the Internet.

By the way, you can print it in English, Ukrainian, and other languages. But if you have never done this, it is better to start with Russian.

Let's say I want to find a biography of Leonardo Da Vinci. What should you type in this case?

You can, of course, type like this: “I want to find a biography of Leonardo Da Vinci.” But this is not the most best option. Because the search engine is not a person. And you should “communicate” with him in a slightly different way. You must type accurately and clearly. In my case, it’s better to type “Leonardo da Vinci biography.”

You can enter your request in any letters - both large and small. The search engine doesn't care. Even if you type with errors, he will most likely correct them himself.

After entering the query, you need to click on the “Find” button at the end of the search line or the “Enter” button on the keyboard.

The following happened: I typed what I wanted to find on the Internet (in scientific terms this is called “entered a query”), pressed “Enter” - and Yandex “strolled” the Internet at lightning speed and found sites that presented the information I was interested in.

If the question concerns some well-known phenomena (popular people, films, etc.), then on the right side the search engine shows basic information. In my case it's short biography and famous works of the artist.

And in the center, Yandex shows sites (or rather, site pages) with information - their addresses and brief content. I’ll tell you more about them, since this is the most important part of the search.

Yandex found a lot of them. But first, the search engine shows those that it considers the best for certain reasons. And most often he is not mistaken - the remaining resources are, as a rule, of poorer quality.

These are all small announcements. Each one has a blue-colored title followed by brief description(black). And above the description is the website address on the Internet (green). And to be more precise, the address of the site article with the necessary information.

After all, on each site, as a rule, there is not one page with information, but many. For example, one article is about Leonardo Da Vinci, another about Michelangelo, a third about Rembrandt, and so on. And each of them has your own address within the site address.

It's like a magazine in which there are many pages and they are all numbered - each has its own number.

For example, I liked the first description and want to read the entire article. To do this, you need to hover the cursor (arrow) over the title. The cursor will appear as a hand with an extended finger. You need to left-click once.

By the way, on the Internet you need to click everything once, and not twice, as on a computer.

Clicking on the title of the announcement will open a new page. This is the site page that Yandex “told us” about. Now you need to skim through the text. If the information on this page is not suitable, close it and return to Yandex with the search results. We open another announcement from those proposed.

You can open not one, but several pages at the same time. The main thing is not to get confused in them :)

That is, when we open an announcement, it turns out that we have two sites open. The first is Yandex with search results, and the second is the one we opened from the list (one of the results).

But let's get back to the search. I have already said that to begin with, Yandex shows those pages that, in its opinion, are the best. All the rest (and there are hundreds and even thousands of them) are below.

If you go down to the very bottom of the search results page, there will be numbers there.

To do this, you need to turn the wheel on the mouse or move the slider on the right side of the browser.

Behind them are hidden other pages that Yandex found. Click on the number "2". The page with announcements of other sites will load.

This means that if what Yandex gave at the very beginning does not work, you can look at other announcements (and sites) that are hidden under the numbers at the very bottom of the search results.

Google (google.ru)

The second search engine you should know how to use is Google (google.ru). The principle is the same. Type google.ru in the address bar of the browser and press the “Enter” button on the keyboard.

A very simple design page will load. In the center there is a line for printing the request.

Type in this line what you want to find on the Internet ( search query). After that, press the “Enter” button on your keyboard or the “Search on Google” button on the site itself.

A new page with announcements will load. Everything is very similar to what we have already seen in Yandex.

The same as with Yandex - we read the announcement, and if it seems that it is suitable, click on the title. A website will open with information on our topic. If this is really what you need, stay on this site. What if this information doesn’t fit, close it and return to Google again.

And, as in Yandex, there are numbers at the very end of the search results page. These numbers hide other site announcements on the topic.
