I think everyone knows that several users can work on a computer running Windows 7, and each of them has their own profile. However, it may happen that one of the accounts, for example, needs to be deleted, but not everyone knows exactly how to do this. In this article I will tell you how to delete a Windows 7 account, and in several ways.

Removal via "Toolbar"

First of all, go to the start menu, from there go to the “Control Panel”, and in the list that opens select “ Accounts users." A window with settings will open in front of you, but you need the bottom one - “Manage another account”.

After that, click on the name of the user whose account you would like to delete. Then go to settings and select “Delete account”.

Please note that immediately before deletion you will be asked to save all personal user data. Here you can choose for yourself, you can save or you can delete everything.

Removal via Computer Management

You can reset your Windows 7 account in another way. To do this, right-click on the “My Computer” shortcut and select “Computer Management”. On the left side of the window that opens, you will see various items that you can go to to complete your tasks. You need "Utilities" - " Local users and groups" - "Users".

Accordingly, next you will see a list of all users who have access to this computer. Select the one you would like to say goodbye to, right-click and press “Delete”. In the window that appears, confirm the selected action.

Removal via Account Manager

To launch the account manager, you need to follow simple steps. In the start menu, look for “Run” and type “control userpasswords2”, and then click “OK”.

After this, select the name of the user you want to delete and, accordingly, click “Delete”. Confirm this action.

I think the three methods described should be enough to administer Windows 7 accounts. Choose the one that you like best or that is most preferable to you, and remove unnecessary or outdated accounts from your computer. I am sure that with these tips you will succeed!

Although among most users it is customary to call electronic computers personal computers, but often a PC with an operating system Windows system 7 is used by several people at once. Moreover, each user can create multiple accounts in the system.

A significant number of profiles that are no longer used not only take up space hard drive, but can also create confusion.

Below is a guide about one of the methods for managing profiles in the OS, namely, methods for deleting users on a computer running Windows 7 are described.

Basic removal methods

"Seven" has everything necessary tools to solve this problem. If there is an unused account in the system, you can quickly get rid of it.

However, if the PC is in a domain, then only the local account will be deleted, and domain records will remain untouched. It is necessary to take into account that files that were created under the account being deleted will also be erased from the PC.

Method 1. Through the control panel (CP)

You must log in with administrator rights and perform the following sequential steps:

As you can see, the technique is simple and the vast majority of people will not have any difficulties. The only difficulty that a beginner may have is logging into the system with extended privileges. Therefore, below is presented brief instructions about how this problem is solved.

How to get extended powers?

The above technique started with the fact that it requires administrator rights to perform it. To obtain them, you must complete the following sequential steps:

Method 2. Using an account manager (AM)

If, due to problems in the system, the profile that is planned to be deleted has been damaged, then the first method will not solve the issue, but will need to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the MUS. This method, just like the first, is carried out with extended rights.

The following steps need to be followed:

Note: This technique allows you to delete unnecessary accounts, but the folders will not be erased from the system volume, so if necessary, you will have to remove them manually later.

Method 3: Through PC Control

Sequence of actions:

Method 4. Using command line capabilities (CL)

You will need to do the following:

Note: In the command, instead of “Hope”, you should write the specific username that is to be deleted.

7. Click “Enter”;

Method 5: Adjusting entries in the Registry Editor

You need to do the following:

How to delete a guest account?

An account called “Guest” cannot be deleted, but it can be disabled. To this end, you need to do the following:

Some time ago I talked about. Today I would like to talk about how to delete this account if, for example, it is not used.

Click on the "Start" button and select "Control Panel".

The computer settings window will open. Here you will see a large list of various subsections. Select "User Accounts".

A new window will allow you to make changes to your account. But since we are not interested in this now, we click on the “Manage another account” item.

When a new window opens, you will see a list of current accounts. Choose the one you need.

A page with settings for the specified entry will open. To delete it, click “Delete account”.

Before deleting it directly, the system will prompt you that it may automatically save the contents of some account folders on desktop. In addition, you can save this data yourself by clicking on the “Save files” button. If you do not need any files from this profile, simply click on the “Delete files” button.

Now we confirm the deletion of the “account” by clicking on the “Delete account” button.

The account has been deleted.

Microsoft's main product is Windows, multi-user operating system. This makes it possible to create a separate account for each PC user. Over time, accounts take up valuable disk space and create confusion. Removing a second user in Windows 7 is actually not difficult. How to do this?

Standard removal methods

Windows 7 provides all the tools with which you can solve this problem. Microsoft developers even made sure that when you deactivate a profile, you can save personal files. Therefore, before deleting an unnecessary user profile in Windows 7, it is important to decide whether there is a need to save personal data or whether a complete cleanup is required. If you choose the first option, a directory with the name of the account will be saved in the computer’s memory, and you can find it in the “Users” system folder. If you select the second option, all personal data will be destroyed (except in cases where files from “My Documents” were copied and moved to another folder).

The easiest way to remove unnecessary Windows users involves using the Control Panel:

  1. First you need to log in (with Administrator rights).
  2. Open the Start menu and find the Control Panel tab.
  3. There is a section in the User Account “User and Family Accounts...” that should be opened.
  4. In the new window, you need to activate the very first section: “User Accounts”.
  5. At this stage, the system will allow you to make changes to one of the created accounts. To do this, select the “Manage another entry” command.
  6. A list of all created accounts will open, among them it is worth highlighting the unnecessary one and clicking on it with the left mouse button.
  7. In the list of commands that open, there will be an item prompting you to uninstall the account. Also in this section the PC owner will be able to delete or change the password, set parental controls, change the name or account type.
  8. If the deletion option was selected, the system will offer two scenarios: one of them is the uninstallation of the profile with all personal information, and the second is the opportunity to save it.
  9. After selecting a specific action, the system will ask you to confirm the uninstallation process.

This method does not present any difficulties for most users, except for those who do not know how to log into Windows with Administrator rights. To obtain extended permissions, press the Win + R key combination, then in the window that appears, in the special field, enter the command “control userpasswords2” and click “Ok”. A new window will open, in which you should select the “Advanced” virtual section. In the next window on the right side there will be a “Users” item, which stores data about all created profiles, including the Administrator. After opening the Administrator properties, a window with a list of commands will appear. You will need to uncheck the box next to “Deactivate account”. Next, the “Apply” command is activated, and the action is confirmed using the “Ok” button and restarting the computer.

Other ways to uninstall user mode

If the method described above does not help or the user is looking for another solution, there are several more effective recommendations. One of the instructions will tell you how to remove another user in Windows 7 using the Computer Management console:

  1. Right-click on the “Computer” icon on the desktop and select the “Computer Management” tab.
  2. In the list that appears on the left side of the dialog box, the “Utilities” sections open one by one, then “Local users and groups” and “Users”.
  3. In the main window, select the name of the user mode that needs to be uninstalled.
  4. Calls up using the right mouse button context menu with various commands, including deletion.
  5. The uninstallation option can also be found in the quick commands panel. It is presented in the form of a red cross.
  6. To confirm the action, click “Yes” in the new dialog box.

Experienced PC owners can use the Registry Editor to remove unnecessary users in Windows 7 through the Registry Editor. This can be done like this:

  1. The first thing you need to do is run system registry. To do this, open the “Start” menu, then click on the “Run” command, and in the window that opens, enter “regedit”.
  2. It is recommended to create a backup copy system base, since incorrect actions can lead to serious consequences. To create a backup copy, you will need to use the “File” - “Export” command and specify the name of the copy being created and the location where it will be stored.
  3. The next step will require you to navigate to the following branch: “\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList”.
  4. After opening the editor, on the left side you need to find the “ProfileList” folder. There are various branches in its subfolders, next to some the “ProfileImagePass” parameter is indicated, which is what indicates existing user profiles. The value of this parameter will tell you how to find the path to the user’s directory in the “C:\Users” folder.

Earlier in the article, we already looked at various manipulations with these same accounts. And in this short article for beginners, we will tell you how to delete an unwanted account. Why isn't everything in one article? Well, you know, long articles are boring to read;)

Before you begin deleting accounts, you must activate a full-fledged Administrator account - by default, it is disabled. How to do this is described here:

Then reboot and log in as administrator.

So, click on the button Start and enter the query “”, then press the key .

Click on the button Managing another account.

Click on the icon of the account that you hate with every fiber of your soul (we are talking about the account, of course, and not about hating Windows 7, hehe).

In the next window you need to choose whether to save user files or whether it’s better to delete them to hell. Our advice is to delete it, it will only clog up your computer, why did they give up in the first place?

However, if these files are dear to you as memory, they will be saved in a separate folder directly on your desktop. Well, click on the button and the account will be permanently deleted. That's where she goes.
