To be honest, I mentioned geeks for a reason in the introduction. Vysor was written by Koushik Dutta, one of the most recognizable Android developers and a great connoisseur of the green platform. Moreover, at first Kashik assumed that Vysor would not go to the general public and would be useful to his brothers in the shop for debugging applications. However, at the beta testing stage, Vysor interested a lot of ordinary users, even if not all of them clearly understood why all this was needed.

Maybe they themselves wanted to become a little geek? The version sounds plausible, especially in light of the fact that Vysor does not work out of the box and needs to be paired with a computer. Here's how to do it.

Basic version of Vysor

After launching the application, you will be greeted and asked to switch to developer mode - a special section in the smartphone settings, where it is better not to meddle without knowledge of the matter. As a rule, the developer mode is hidden from the user's eyes and is not so easy to get to. But Vysor will quickly take you to where you need to enable USB debugging, that is, enable the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) interface.

On the next screen, you will be given a link to download the Vysor desktop app for Chrome. Surely you have a browser from Google, even if you use Firefox or . Install Vysor for Chrome and open it - now it's up to the drivers.

Links to download the ADB driver are provided at the bottom left. Please note that Windows 10 has its own drivers. Install them, try to connect. The smartphone will ask for your permission - agree. Now both devices are ready for working together. A mirror of your phone will appear on the monitor.

Use your keyboard and mouse to navigate. For example, clicking the left mouse button is a tap on the screen, and the Esc button is a step back. To be honest, it’s inconvenient to use, especially since the picture freezes and falls apart into huge pixel cubes. Why is this happening? Because the default settings are the lowest. Unfortunately, you can change them only in the paid version of the utility.

Paid version of Vysor

Let's not talk about prices for now, let's start with the features that owners of the Pro version of Vysor get:

  • Activate full screen mode.
  • Dock Vysor on top of other windows.
  • Indication of the bitrate, resolution and video decoder.
  • Transfer files with simple drag and drop.
  • Broadcast your screen over the air without wire.

Paid options are so sweet that without them the application really doesn’t make sense at all. Let me give you examples:

  • You are working on a computer while your phone is charging. A notification arrives. You don't want to get up. We woke up the green robot with the mouse and looked at what was happening there. In this case, you can respond in the messenger: write or stick a sticker. True, dial on computer keyboard It is only possible on the English layout. Russian letters will have to be poked with the mouse on the virtual keyboard of the smartphone.
  • The situation repeats itself with the only difference being that the bell rings. They swiped “Reply” and turned on speakerphone. You'll have to yell, of course, but it's better than breaking away from your favorite place. We do the same with outgoing messages.
  • You wanted to play the third “Heroes”. We launch and play on a full screen.
  • You forgot where your phone is. Turn on front camera and look at the ceiling. You whitened it, so you can figure it out by any spot. :) Okay, okay, just turn on the music and find it.
  • You are minding your own business and gave the phone to the child so that he does not interfere. The child has not been heard for a couple of tens of minutes, which means it’s time to find out what he was so interested in. This is important, because even on harmless children’s YouTube channels There are absolutely wild videos in which dolls are given birth accompanied by appropriate groans.

Of course, the situations are quite specific and they do not happen to everyone. Therefore, it is even more surprising that Vysor has an aggressive monetary policy and is distributed more as a service than as a mobile application- by subscription. So, for a month they ask for 2 dollars, and for a lifetime license - 40 dollars.

In general, in basic version Vysor looks like nothing more than a curious toy for five minutes, but in full - it’s not for everybody and is too expensive. What do you think?

One of the most famous independent application developers for Android devices, Koushik Dutta, also known as Koush, brought his next creation to the attention of the general public.

It's about the application Vysor, which appeared in Google Play and which, without a doubt, will appeal not only to other developers, but also to more or less advanced users of Android devices, which they can access (main screen/desktop, launching games, applications, etc.) from their PC, laptop and even a Windows tablet.

The application requires a Windows device from which you want to control your Android smartphone or tablet ADB drivers, which you can download from this address. By the way, a hint about the need to do this is the only function of the Android version of Visor.

In addition, you will need Chrome browser with installed and running application Vysor, available for download from here.

Now all you have to do is enable USB debugging on your Android device (how to do this is described in), connect it to your computer, laptop or Windows tablet, and in the Vysor PC application window click on the “Find devices” button.

Once Vysor finds your Android device and you allow it to connect to your PC in the corresponding pop-up window, its screen will appear on your PC display and you can control it using your mouse and keyboard.

There is also a Po version of Vysor, which will cost you $1.99 per month or $9.99 per year, which has a number of additional functions, inaccessible to regular users free version. Among them: the opportunity wireless connection Android devices, full screen mode, mode for displaying the contents of the screen of your smartphone or tablet in high quality, and also - copying files by simply dragging them.

Vysor is a computer application that allows you to remotely control your smartphone.

Usage

The theoretical component of this solution is quite good, but it practical implementation leave much to be desired. Many of the features offered by the developer are completely useless, while others that may be useful are only available upon purchase. They will allow you to play Android games on your computer.

Functional

In the free version, it is impossible to connect to a smartphone without USB usage. What is the point of such remote control if the device lies half a meter away from you, connected to the computer port via a cable? Well, let’s assume you’ve paid for your subscription and are expecting a miracle. But it won't happen. Yes, it will be possible to use some useful features, not available to Free owners, including activating full-screen mode, docking a program window on top of other windows, and transferring files by simply dragging and dropping. In addition, you can also disconnect the phone from the PC and take it to another room - for example, by putting it on charge.

The phone is in the other room, you are at the computer. Would you like to respond to an SMS? But on a physical keyboard you can only use the English layout. To use the Cyrillic alphabet, you must connect a virtual keyboard. Not very comfortable - pressing on the smartphone screen would be even more convenient. Regarding calls, not everything is so smooth either, because you will have to take care of the presence of headphones with a microphone. In general, the software has positive aspects, however, there are also many disadvantages.

Key Features

  • answering messages and calls from a PC;
  • transfer files from computer to smartphone;
  • allows you to take a photo or record a video from your phone without touching it;
  • in the free version you cannot avoid connecting via USB;
  • activation of a monthly subscription or one-time purchase of software;
  • the program is available completely free of charge and is compatible with any version of Windows.

Vysor is a browser extension that allows you to manage Android devices connected to your computer. This is by no means a portable device manager, since this extension does not offer the ability to transfer data between a PC and a portable device or other functions typical of such programs. It only allows you to work with mobile operating system using mouse and keyboard. A popular use case for Vysor is to simplify message text entry on Android devices. If you frequently communicate via SMS or mobile managers (who do not have clients for desktop devices), then you will certainly appreciate the convenience of using a physical keyboard instead of a digital one. It is also much more convenient to play some mobile games with the help of computer peripherals.

To gain “control” over the device, it should be connected to the PC using a USB cable (control via point Wi-Fi access is currently not supported by the extension). Next you need to install mobile client Vysor from Google Play. Now open the extension in Chrome and click on the “Find Device” button. At this point, Vysor should detect your connected device and allow you to select it in a pop-up window. After this, the extension will open a separate window where the user will see home screen your smartphone/tablet and can start working with it. The window can be moved freely and even “glued” to the edges of the monitor.

Key Features and Functions

  • allows you to control a connected Android device using a mouse and keyboard;
  • requires the presence of the same name on the device free application from Play Market;
  • Great for speeding up typing messages and playing some mobile games;
  • has no input delay;
  • Works with most versions of Chrome.
