The development of technology allows you to get creative with your digital devices just incredible things. Just remember how a few years ago, when buying a new phone, you had to frantically copy data to flash cards and phone numbers to SIM. However, now it’s enough just to log in using your account on a new gadget to regain access to your information.

These " cloud technologies”, in which data is stored not locally, but on a remote secure service, are also reflected in the operation of Internet browsers. The most useful innovation in Firefox is bookmark synchronization, so you can open your favorite sites on any computer, phone or tablet without remembering its address. All favorites content is transmitted over the Internet to all devices logged in under the same account.

Thanks to some third party services, you can perform the same operation not only between browsers from the same manufacturer, however, first things first.

Synchronization between Firefox

To begin with, I will, of course, tell you how to synchronize Firefox bookmarks. First, you will need to create a special account and then log in to it, after which the system will automatically transfer your links to the server over an encrypted connection. So, to create an account you need:

  1. Launch the browser.
  2. Click the menu button on the toolbar.
  3. Click on the “Enter synchronization” button.
  4. Read the welcome message and click on the “Start” button.

After this, a standard registration form will be shown, in which you will need to specify the user’s email, password and year of birth. By clicking on the “Registration” button, a confirmation letter will be sent to you at the specified address, the link from which you need to follow, which is a standard and common procedure.

Important! Once account creation is complete, simply sign in to your newly created account on another computer or device, and Mozilla will begin syncing your bookmarks automatically. You can log in from the main menu of the browser by clicking on the “Login synchronization” button mentioned above.

Other browsers

It so happens that many users prefer to view their favorite sites alternately in several browsers. For example, a browser may be installed on your work computer, and Firefox on your home computer. This circumstance requires some kind of universal solution, and its name is Xmarks.

This extension is present in the catalogs of almost all modern browsers, including Opera, Google Chrome, Safari, and other less popular programs. You only need to install this extension in each of the programs and log in under one account (having previously created it) to solve the issue of how bookmarks are synchronized in Firefox between Opera and other browsers.

Just open the main menu of the fox browser and go to the “Add-ons” menu, and then search for the name “Xmarks”.

Using these methods, you should no longer have problems accessing your favorite sites - and this is all thanks to the development of cloud tools that every modern person should be able to use.

Hello, dear readers!

In a previous article I wrote about . Today the article is similar, but in it we will look at how to synchronize bookmarks and other settings in an equally popular browser Mozilla Firefox.

First way. Saving bookmarks as an HTML file.

All modern browsers, including Mozilla, have the ability to save favorite links as an HTML file. This file, as I already wrote, you can carry with you on a flash drive and open the necessary pages when working on someone else’s computer, or save it on cloud service to always have access to it.

To work with bookmarks in Mozilla, two buttons are used - an asterisk to save a link, and the second opens a list of commands for working with bookmarks. To export to a file, select the command Show all bookmarks and open Library.

You should take a closer look at this browser tool, as it makes it possible to actively manage bookmarks and sort them according to various criteria.

Last step, button Import and backup , a menu opens with the commands we need Export or Import HTML file.

By the way, there is another convenient function here - Import from another browser.

Second way. Synchronization with Firefox account.

If previously you could save bookmarks in the Mozilla browser only using the first method or using special programs, then now it is possible to save all data in a cloud service. To do this, you need to register an account in the Firefox service. This is also very easy to do. First, open the browser control panel and select Settings, in the left menu click Synchronization and create an account.

I set up Firefox Sync but nothing is syncing

Your devices need to be on the new version of Sync in order for them to share information with each other. If any of your devices are still on the old Sync, you must unlink them before setting them up with the new Sync. Please see Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more for step-by-step instructions.

I continue a series of articles about setting up synchronization of settings, bookmarks, passwords and other data in different browsers with your account. This allows you to log into the same browser under the same account on different devices and your bookmarks, passwords and other data will be loaded everywhere, which is very convenient! Earlier we talked about how to do this in Google Chrome and Opera, and now we will talk about the no less popular browser - Mozilla FireFox.

What can I synchronize with my Mozilla FireFox account?

Like other browsers, FireFox can sync:

    Open browser tabs;

    Site visit history;

    Saved bookmarks;

    Saved logins and passwords from sites;

    Installed add-ons (extensions) for the browser;

    Browser settings.

Most of this data can, through synchronization, be instantly transferred between your devices, where you will log into the Mozilla Firefox browser under the same account.

Data such as settings and add-ons, of course, will not be able to sync with all devices, since, for example, smartphones and tablets cannot install the same browser add-ons as a computer. This is a compatibility issue. Also with the settings, on mobile devices they may be different. But when working from another computer with the same operating system, everything can be synchronized!

Setting up synchronization

Setting up synchronization in Mozilla is quite simple, just like in other browsers.

Launch Mozilla Firefox, open its menu and select “Enter Sync”.

You will be taken to the synchronization settings section, where you need to click “Create an account”.

Next time you can get to the same settings section as follows:

Open your browser menu and select “Settings”.

Go to the “Firefox Account” section.

A registration page will open. Fill out a short form, indicating the email to which you will register an account in Firefox, create and indicate a password, as well as your age. Click “Create an account”.

On the next page, you can choose which browser data you would like to sync with your newly created Mozilla account. For example, you can sync only bookmarks or bookmarks with passwords if you don't need the rest. But I recommend leaving everything for synchronization! Because it doesn’t take up space and, as they say, it won’t be superfluous. Maybe something will come in handy later.

Log in to your email and find there a letter from FireFox Account with the subject “Confirm your address email…” or similar. In the letter, click “Confirm email”.

Synchronization setup is ready!

Now all you have to do is log in to the Mozilla FireFox account you just created on some other device, for example, on a smartphone, and due to synchronization you will see there all the passwords that you saved on another device, bookmarks, settings, etc. (depending on what selected for synchronization).

Changing sync settings

If you need to change synchronization settings, for example, disable synchronization of any data or, conversely, enable it, and also if you need to change your account, then you can do all this in the “Settings” - “Firefox Account” section.

There, select, if necessary, the desired data to be synchronized. If you want to log out of your account and create a new one, or simply log into another one, click “Disconnect” and the corresponding buttons will appear for logging into your account and creating a new one.

By clicking “Account Management” you will be taken to personal account your Firefox account, where you can: change your password; put an avatar; indicate the name; indicate an additional email address; view the devices on which you are logged into this account; delete your account (usually there is no point in this).

Conclusion

If you use Mozilla browser FireFox, I recommend using synchronization. A very, very convenient thing, as in other browsers! Because usually, if someone uses one browser on a computer, then on other devices, including smartphones and tablets, this person also uses the same browser. Therefore, it will be very convenient to use the same bookmarks, history, settings and other data from your browser on all devices at once!

A modern person actively uses the Internet, moving from a home computer to a work computer, then to a smartphone or tablet, then again to home computer. Each device has bookmarks, sometimes there are quite a lot of such bookmarks.

Necessary steps to synchronize Mozilla

Finding lost information in an ocean of data is hard work. As well as re-registering personal settings, tightening extensions. Sometimes the need to save data also arises when reinstalling the operating system.

Therefore, all modern browsers have their own built-in systems that ensure alignment of user data when working on different gadgets. Such synchronization is also provided in Mozilla. For this there is Firefox service Sync. So, how to synchronize mozilla. Let's divide the process into steps.

First step

In order to synchronize Mozilla Firefox you need to create an account - an account. It will be the identifier, the binding of user data in the system. Using the manager’s service, the user sends passwords, keys, and bookmarks to the browser servers for storage.

When you log into your Mozilla profile from a new device to sync your bookmarks, it automatically uploads them there. It is advisable that all user devices have latest version Firefox.

Create a profile in the browser. To do this:

Second step

Congratulations. Let's proceed directly to the process of synchronizing Mozilla bookmarks.

The browser will open a menu with the corresponding table of contents. There you can uncheck items that are not subject to it:

  • tabs;
  • bookmarks;
  • passwords;
  • history;
  • additions;
  • settings.

The necessary properties will be automatically added.

Third step

In order to synchronize Mozilla on all existing devices, you need:

To remove any of the devices you need to do the following:

  • Click on the three lines in the upper right corner of the Firefox window;
  • The login will be written at the bottom of the drop-down window - usually this is an email address, click;
  • In the window that opens, click Detach and select the object.

The process is over. The question of how to synchronize Mazil is closed. Data will not be lost if the gadget is lost, the system is reinstalled, or other events.
