This river, which flows near Scalea and this city, is famous for the fact that at its mouth scientists have discovered a unique archaeological value - traces of an unknown ancient culture. 13 km from Santa Domenica Talao, the town of Papasidero is hidden in the mountains. Next to it is the Romito Cave (Grotta del Romito), where rock art dating back to the Early Paleolithic period was discovered.
