Well, I’m not happy with the sound of the built-in iOS Music application. Yes, it has a set of different equalizer presets, but there is no way to manually adjust the equalizer for certain headphones...

There are several other audio players in the Apple app store in which the equalizer can be adjusted to suit your hearing. These are, for example, Equalizer Pro 1.0 or Amplifind Music Player and Visualizer.

A year ago, an audio player known to many experienced computer scientists appeared in the App Store jetAudio for iPhone/iPod. I was pleased with the built-in support for the Russian language.

For the ability to manually adjust the equalizer, I had to make an in-app purchase “Plus Unlocker”. But she's worth it!

A musician friend helped me optimally configure the player’s equalizer and from that moment jetAudio became my main audio player on iDevices. The only thing missing was support for the iPad player.

Today the player received another update in the App Store. To my delight, full tablet support appeared! [To the developers’ credit, they didn’t charge extra for this]

The player on iPad works in vertical/horizontal modes. The update also added another in-app purchase “Crystalizer” (some new sound effect..)

Key player features:

• Controlling music playback with gestures: double tapping on the screen stops/continues playing, swiping left/right on the screen leads to playing the next/previous song.

• Displaying song lyrics (if they were included in ID3 tags).
• Repeat playback mode for a single song or an entire album/playlist.
• Possibility of listening to a given segment of a piece of music.

• The player can sort songs by album/artist. Supports “Lists” – these are the same playlists that we create in iTunes.

In “Folders” you can copy music files of various formats from your PC (via iTunes or via Wi-Fi) - FLAC, etc. Now you don’t need another player from the App Store to listen to FLAC.

Songs of a particular album can be swapped or deleted.

Also, for the selected playlist, it is possible to smartly sort songs according to one of the criteria:

• You can control the song playback speed by increasing or decreasing it.
• The player has a built-in timer - you can set the interval after which the music will stop.

I most often listen to music on iDevices using either Beats Wireless headphones (on an iPhone) or a wired Beats urBeats stereo headset (on a tablet).

The player allows you to remember up to 4 custom equalizer settings. There is also a set of pre-installed presets... I would classify the rest of the in-app purchases as unnecessary “beauties”, so I won’t pay attention to them. Moreover, when you try to buy the new “Crystalizer” effect, a window pops up with an error message:

To summarize, we can safely say: jetAudio Music Player is one of the best audio players on the App Store today. The player is not overloaded with unnecessary settings, allows you to customize the sound to suit the user's needs, and can play in the background. The only thing the application lacks is its own widget for the Notification Panel. However, nothing prevents us from controlling the player’s playback from the Control Center or on the lock screen.

Starting with iOS 8, the convenient function of remembering the last played song has disappeared in the standard Music application: (In the jetAudio player, even if you haven’t used it for several days and the player has been unloaded from the background, when you open it you always see a panel with the last played song at the bottom of the player window song and playback control buttons. This is very convenient!

JetAudio Basic works quite well, but is inferior to some more powerful software products. The utility supports a lot of modern formats. This fact is the most important for any player.

The utility can be installed on a desktop and mobile device. So when you connect one device to another, you can synchronize. In this case, audio and video files will be copied to the required folders. Transferring multimedia content is very fast.
