Payment processing on Aliexpress - comparatively new feature, introduced to ensure increased protection buyer. Let's figure out what it is and how it can be useful.

Many users (including me :)) did not immediately notice the payment processing on Aliexpress.

I don't mean checking your payment after you have placed your order and paid for it. In this case, we are talking about the status that your purchase receives after you confirm its receipt or the order protection period expires.

This status looks like this.

And if you open the page with the order, you will see the following transcript of the current status.

As you can see, now even if you accidentally clicked order confirmation (for example, succumbing to the seller’s persuasion) or simply did not follow the protection period, then within 15 days from the moment the order was closed you can open a dispute if there is something wrong with the product or you didn't receive it at all. By the way, there is no counter associated with these 15 days, so you will have to count when the payment verification on Aliexpress ends on your own.

Opening a dispute during this check is carried out. That is, the button to open a dispute is in the same place, the reasons are the same, the return conditions are similar.

We can say that you have simply increased the order protection time without having to wait longer than the 60 days of delivery required by the rules. The only type of orders that are not “secured” in this way are those closed as a result of a dispute.

So now, even if you accidentally confirmed delivery, you still have 15 days left, during which you can open a dispute and keep it open until you receive the order. But remember: a dispute canceled during this kind of post-Defense leads to the final closure of the order with the transfer of money to the seller. That is, you re-open the dispute you can't.

And yes, this innovation came into force on June 25, 2015. Well, I noticed it a little late, but better late than never.

I went to leave a mention of this new opportunity in the relevant articles written before its appearance on Aliexpress :)

And finally: if this post was useful to you, you can say “Thank you” to us by sharing it on any social network convenient for you or by joining

After placing and paying for an order, it will be assigned the status “Payment is being verified.” As they write on Aliexpress, verification can take up to 24 hours. What kind of status is this and what is it for?

Payment verification is needed in order to protect sellers from fraudulent activities during payments for goods.
The order status “Your payment is being verified” means that payment for the order has been completed, the money has already been debited from your card, but the transaction itself is being verified by Aliexpress.

Only after verification of the payment will the order change its status to “Awaiting shipment” and the seller begins to process and send the parcel.

How long does it take to verify a payment on Aliexpress?

As it was written, the maximum time for checking a payment on Aliexpress is 24 hours from the moment of payment. But, as a rule, it happens faster. Usually no longer than 1-2 hours. The verification can be delayed for more than 24 hours only in particularly urgent cases, for example, during the 11.11 sale, when there are too many people willing to pay for orders.

What to do if the payment takes a long time to be verified by Aliexpress?

So, you paid for the order and the payment verification period has taken longer and is more than a day.
Aliexpress usually warns about delays in verification with the following message:

“Sorry, we will need a little more time to check your order. It won’t take more than 6 hours.”

If the payment takes too long to be verified, check that the money has been debited from your account and not returned. If the payment was successful, and the “payment is being verified” status hangs in your Aliexpress account for more than a day and a half, I advise you to contact the service technical support aliexpress.

Is it possible to cancel an order at the stage of payment verification on Aliexpress?

If for some reason you change your mind about buying a paid order and its status is “Payment is being verified,” then you can easily cancel the order and get a full refund.
In this case, the money will be returned 1-2 days after the payment is processed.

To cancel an order at the “Payment is being verified” stage, select the order that you want to cancel, click on the “Cancel order” button, then click on the “Request order cancellation” button.
After this, you will be asked to select a reason for canceling the order from a list.
Select the "I don't need this order" option and click the "Submit" button.
After that, you just have to wait for the refund.

Has a high degree of transaction security. Fraudulent actions on the part of sellers are reduced to zero here, since the payment goes through many stages and is withheld until the transaction is completed. New users may often not understand what the order status “Payment Processing” means, while this is a mandatory process that affects everyone. In this article, you will learn more about the entire payment verification system on in order to better understand its structure, and also receive the necessary information about the approximate timing of payment verification. It's time to find out more about this mysterious "Payment Processing" status.

Why do you need payment verification on Aliexpress?

To prevent fraudulent activity on your account, the administration withholds each payment. As soon as your funds arrive on the site, the system will automatically check it. The seller will also receive an automatic notification - this will be a signal that the goods can already be shipped. Your “Payment Processing” status will change to “Item Shipping”. And under the inscription the time counter will be reset, now it will count down the time in reverse order. Take a closer look at this system.

  • For example, go to the website, log in to the system and open the account menu. To do this, click on your name in the upper right corner of the site.
  • In the expanded list, click on the “My orders” line.
  • This is where you will see the payment verification status. All your orders are displayed here: completed, ongoing or awaiting review. Their status is displayed on the right side of the screen, and under the status there is a counter. There is no counter only in orders with the status “Completed”, since they are already completed.

Why do we need time countdown in Aliexpress orders?

When you buy a particular product, you can see on the order page the phrase “The Seller undertakes to ship the order within ** days,” where the number of days is indicated instead of asterisks. It is during this period of time that he must send the goods from the moment the payment status changes from “Processing” to “Dispatching of goods”. The counter counts down the time so that the seller fulfills his obligations on time.

Exactly the same counting occurs with goods that are in transit. You can see under them how much time is left until the end of the period stated by the seller.

However, different rules apply to payment processing. Here the countdown is carried out in the correct order. As a rule, processing takes up to a day, but there are also holidays: Black Fridays, global sales, price drops. Then the servers may be loaded to capacity and more processing time will be required.

What to do if your Aliexpress order is taking too long to be verified

If three or four days have passed since payment for the purchase, and the status is still “Processing,” then you should write to the administration. It is important to understand that it is not the seller’s fault for the long payment verification, since he will receive your money only after you pick up the goods from the post office; all questions should be directed to the administration.

If you have questions after sending the goods or during it, then such questions should already be directed to the seller. Above each order there is a “Message to seller” button.

By clicking on it, you will find yourself in a form for filling out an application. Write your question to English. You can use online translator. Try to write simple and understandable sentences.

During major sales, many customers shop at the same time, and we process a large number of payments. Therefore, payment verification may take longer than usual.

Don't worry, your order has gone through, no need to place it again. The payment will be processed as soon as possible, and you will definitely receive all the discounts that you applied when placing your order.
