I have read the rules. What really surprised me was that there was no trick to winning. According to the conditions, if you answer 10 questions correctly (within 15 seconds each), then you are guaranteed (without any additional conditions) to win 100 thousand rubles.

The organizer of the promotion independently pays a tax of 35%, so the real amount that can be won in “Blitz” is 65,000 rubles. But here everything is according to the law...

Where does such generosity come from? And why, instead of gratitude, the Internet is replete with hundreds of negative reviews about this game? Let's figure it out.

Rules of "Smart Quiz"

If you are an MTS subscriber, then you probably received a message with the following content:

The rules of Smart Quiz are simple. Every day the participant is sent 10 different questions to test their erudition. Points are awarded for each correct answer. The one who scored the most points in a day and did it faster than the rest receives a prize of 50 thousand rubles. The first day of participation in the quiz is free, for each subsequent day 15 rubles will be debited from your account. For those who want to improve their results and increase their chances of winning, it is proposed to take additional 2 games per day, for each of which you need to pay 45 rubles. Every day, from Monday to Saturday, the main prize is drawn - 50 thousand rubles. On Sunday the winner receives 100 thousand rubles. In addition, there are also bonus prizes. “Smart Quiz” is not a giveaway of prizes, but another of the operator’s additional services, created to lure money from you in addition to the subscription fee. Calculate for yourself, a month of participation, and 450-465 rubles are debited from your balance, or even several times more if you decide to take additional quizzes to increase your chance of winning (2 such quizzes, and minus 90 rubles from your mobile account)!

"Mysterious" winners

It’s funny, but despite persistent and long searches on the Internet, I could not find a single review about winning the Smart Quiz. But obviously someone had to show off their prize. And how does it usually happen? I told it to friends, acquaintances, and someone else. And here... there is not even a mention of “an acquaintance of an acquaintance won.”

But at the moment, “Smart Quiz” has been going on for more than 130 days! This means that there are already more than 390 winners, and I only take into account those who were supposed to receive the main prize and additional ones for 50th and 100th places. Quite a lot. And yet... there are no reviews or mentions of prizes online. The only information that there are winners is available only on the operator’s official website. And then, only closed numbers and amounts are indicated there. I don’t know about you, but it seems very suspicious to me that nowhere else is there any mention of the participants who became lucky winners of prizes. Were there really any winners during the game and did they really get their money? A very mysterious moment.

Where is the catch?

By deciding to participate in the quiz, you will be wasting your money into thin air. Alas, there are no positive reviews about Smart Quiz on the Internet. There is no need to hope for a prize. But there are so many negative reviews! Their number is in the hundreds. And if you think that the complaints are due to the fact that people simply did not win the desired 50 or 100 thousand rubles, then you are mistaken. No, the dissatisfaction sounds for a completely different reason. It turns out... MTS is not at all against cheating and scamming its subscribers!

Many people encountered the fact that, contrary to their consent, the operator automatically connected them to the quiz. Remember, according to the information in the SMS about the game, in order to start playing, you need to respond to it with an empty message or a code word. However, MTS decided to forcefully connect people, despite the fact that they had no intention of playing and did not send anything. And this, just a minute, is writing off an additional 450 rubles (30*15 rubles) from the balance per month! Therefore, if you received an SMS message about the “Smart Quiz”, be sure to check what services you have connected. Perhaps it is precisely because of this that you cannot understand why money is disappearing from your account so quickly.

The most interesting thing is that, despite the fact that people did not take part in the quiz, some people received points from somewhere for answering the questions!

For those who still want to try their luck and play the quiz, I also have bad news. It is difficult to answer correctly and collect points here. And not because the questions are too difficult, but because there are always some bugs with the game. Some questions may disappear, points may not be awarded, and correct answers may be replaced by others. This is not uncommon here. And it can often happen that the program requires that the word be written exclusively as it is stored in its memory, otherwise the answer will not be counted. Despite all the problems, the money will be debited from you!

“Smart Quiz” is another service from MTS that does not provide any benefit, but steadily eats up your money. Big prizes are just a lure to attract participants. It's up to you to play it or not. On the one hand, 15 rubles is not that much money to have fun and test your erudition, but on the other... There are a lot of similar free applications, besides, if you want to leave the game, but forget to turn it off, it will be “eaten up” per month "A considerable amount. And deception on the part of the operator also somehow does not make you want to participate in the quiz.

Each of the mobile operators tries to earn the maximum amount of money with minimal investment. Apparently, the MTS operator has succeeded most in this, having learned to make money out of thin air based on its new service. It is automatically connected to many subscribers under the guise of “free”, but then money begins to be debited from them. At the same time, the service itself is a cruel scam of subscribers not money, since it does not work at all the way it really should.

As part of the “Smart Quiz” service from the MTS operator, every day the subscriber receives 10 questions in the form of SMS messages, which he must answer correctly. For each correct answer, points are awarded, and the one who managed to score the most points becomes the winner. He is allegedly paid a prize of 50,000 rubles. This amount can be increased twice (up to 100,000 rubles) by ordering two additional questions as part of the quiz for 45 rubles (one-time).

If you take part in this quiz on Sunday, the prize under normal conditions will be 100,000 rubles, that is, it will be twice as much as on any other day. In addition, once a month, an additional drawing of 500,000 rubles takes place, which is awarded to one of the subscribers of the MTS operator who scored the most points among all participants in the quiz over the past month.

During the first 15 days, the Smart Quiz service is free, but then it starts costing 15 rubles for each day. If a subscriber wants to receive 2 additional questions to increase his winnings, then he needs to pay 45 rubles (at a time). As a result, participation in the quiz for a whole month costs MTS subscribers 450 rubles or 1,800 rubles with additional questions for 30 days. Since the number of users of this service is not disclosed, there is no need to talk about the amount of the operator’s earnings.

There are hundreds of reviews on the Internet that the MTS operator has been cruelly scamming its subscribers out of money for more than six months using this service, since it is simply impossible to win. Not counting the fact that for some people the Smart Quiz service is automatically activated under the guise of a free service, many correct answers to questions are counted as incorrect.

In particular, when correct answers are selected, in many cases they are automatically replaced with incorrect ones, or sometimes the word is entered into the operator’s database in the wrong way. This means that it is simply impossible to win a cash prize, since even with all the correct answers, the system specifically counts some of them incorrectly, and this, in turn, will lead to a loss.

Some subscribers claim that when they examined their details, they found outgoing SMS messages with answers to quiz questions, although they never sent them. This suggests that there are some viruses on the smartphone, or that the MTS operator has an entire system designed to falsify messages and siphon money from subscribers without their consent.

Absolutely all participants in the Smart Quiz service from the Russian operator MTS recommend under no circumstances to participate in it, since it is simply impossible to win there. Connecting it can only result in loss of money and nerves. Apparently, since this service has been available for more than six months, the mobile operator is making a good profit from it, but he is doing it fraudulently.

After a month of painfully slow Internet from Megafon and non-working Internet from Yota, I decided to try the Internet from MTS. This was the last option to make fast Internet at the dacha before deciding to buy a 3g/4g amplifier antenna. For a long time I studied the MTS website in search of a suitable tariff - I just needed to try whether MTS Internet was normally available at my dacha or not. The task was complicated by the fact that a SIM card was needed for use in an Internet modem, and, as you know, mobile operators are forced to make their own tariff or SIM card for each device, which stop working when the device from which you access the Internet changes. Having racked my brains reading the MTS website, I decided to go to the nearest MTS store and let them tell me exactly the appropriate tariff. The sales consultant was at first slightly taken aback by my requests, but then he remembered that a SIM card / MTS Tablet tariff might suit me.

I arrived at the dacha, inserted a SIM card into the modem and... nothing! First tip: first activate the new SIM card in your phone - just insert it into the phone, and then insert it into the modem. So, for 350 rubles (now the price on the website is 360 rubles) I became the owner of a SIM card and several gigabytes of the Internet. I hung the modem on the second floor of the dacha, everything worked perfectly - 5 3G sticks, 3 4G sticks. The average speed is 1MB back and forth, which is 10 times faster than the Internet from Megafon. My joy knew no bounds, I calmly sat on the Internet for a couple of days, tracking the rest of the traffic in my personal account. And here lies the first MTS DECEPTION with Internet traffic:

So I went to bed with a balance of several hundred megabytes, and woke up with a minus on my account! It was very unpleasant, to put it mildly. All devices connected to the Internet were turned off; The Internet modem's own traffic is negligible.

Next, the question arose about choosing the most favorable MTS tariff. I’ve been eyeing “Internet VIP” for a long time, and I connected it: 30 gigs during the day and unlimited at night, starting at midnight. Okay, I swallowed my first grudge against MTS, after all, the Internet works well, but there was a technical problem with the minus on the account (in fact, no).

I used the MTS Internet for a whole month with almost no problems, but some bugs still cropped up:

1. The closer to the end of using the tariff, the more often problems arise with logging into the page with the rest of the Internet traffic. My personal account works without problems; the traffic page constantly shows an authorization error. Well, ok, I thought, it happens... (Ha-ha three times ha)

2. one day there was a strong storm. The Internet signal has deteriorated - 3g to three sticks on the modem, 4g - a maximum of two sticks. It looks like something happened to the equipment. I wrote to the MTS technical support service about a problem with the application of terrain pictures, etc., to which I received the following response:

The information regarding your request has been transferred to the technical service department specialists to analyze the quality of communication. Currently, 3G network coverage in the area you specified is, unfortunately, not guaranteed. Reliable coverage area only in the 2G network. The information you provide is entered into the database and will be taken into account in planning network expansion for the future.

Shta??? My 3G/4G reception has deteriorated, there is a problem with the equipment, and they sent me a standard unsubscribe... But these are still flowers!

A few days before the expiration of the Internet-VIP tariff, it was impossible to enter the account with the remainder of the tariff - the problem with authorization occurred at any time of the day. Finally managed to log in after a hundred million attempts and... there were less than 100 megabytes there! Immediately a text message arrived:

Dear client! Please note that the Internet package on your number is running out. After it is exhausted, the cost will be 350 rubles. for every 3 GB (no more than 15 packages).

Then I remembered that in my personal account with Internet traffic there are columns:

Additional traffic (Automatically activated after the end of traffic on the basic option)

Add. Internet for MTS Tablet Mini

Internet for a day (all MR, 0001)

Immediately after connecting to the MTS Internet-VIP tariff, I immediately turned off everything unnecessary that was possible, but these three columns did not turn off. I hoped that the matter would not come to them, so I did not Google this sensitive but extremely relevant issue.

In short, the same situation repeated itself as with the MTS Tablet tariff. I went to bed with traffic on my account, woke up - additional traffic was automatically turned on and 350 rubles were debited! Fine??? In my personal account with the rest of the Internet traffic it was: 0 megabytes available for 1 day, although in fact 3 GB were paid, that is, I again cannot track the rest of the traffic.


I started writing letters to the support service with questions regarding the current situation. When I asked why Internet traffic was not monitored in real time, they answered me with the remainder of the traffic - they wrote that there were 2.99 GB left, although this was not the case. I have 0 and after activation more than 1 megabyte was used. The support service lied and did not answer the question posed. I asked how to disable automatic additional traffic. It turned out that it was necessary activate the service "Cancel additional Internet". Remember this and use it so you don’t turn out to be a sucker like me. Now I have 3GB for 350 rubles! My fart is burning with indignation.


The next question is from another support service operator: if I activate the “cancel additional Internet” service, will the money be returned to my account with the condition of recalculation for the traffic already used. To which I received a response, after which the session with the support service was immediately completed:

Unfortunately, we did not receive any questions from you. All the best to you. Goodbye.

Fine? I created a new session and asked the same question. Answer: when you activate the “cancel additional internet” service, your traffic/money will BURN! I asked for a link to the description of the service, where the moment of burning money/traffic is stated. Answer:

I'm really sorry. I did not receive an answer to my question from you and could not help you. All the best. Goodbye.

I saved logs of conversations with support. It turned out that the questions about “cancelling additional Internet” were answered by the same person, who disconnected every time I asked a vital question.

To sum it up:

The Internet from MTS works, but a fraudulent system has been built around it in order to confuse the client and pump more money out of him. It is almost impossible to find comprehensive information on tariffs and services. Services are automatically activated without indicating how to disable them.

MTS misleads users by not providing up-to-date information on the balance of Internet traffic at the moment + they deliberately create problems with authorization on the site so that it is impossible to track the rest of the traffic.

I am forced to continue using MTS services because other mobile operators do not provide the required Internet speed, but I am finally convinced that I am dealing with scammers. Honestly, I always thought that negative reviews about MTS were written by people rashly, since they did not understand the situation. Now that I myself have fallen into yet another of their traps, I am ready to state: MTS are SCAMs! This is a fact. I hope my review will help someone. All the best. Goodbye.

PPS: Today, August 24, 2017, I received an email from MTS with the subject “Gift for a beloved client!” And when did they manage to fall in love with me, and even after a devastating review? Well, ok, I open it, and there is an advertisement for the new “Prize Machine” promotion with a big red “Get a Prize” button. The letter was sent from the official MTS mail + it said that participation was free, so I pressed the button, sensing that it smelled like another scam...

After clicking on the “Get a prize” button, you will be taken to the MTS website ( direct link to the MTS prize machine). To begin with, authorization by subscriber number is required. Since I surf the Internet via a modem with a SIM card from MTS, my authorization is semi-automatic, that is, the system itself determines it and I only need to confirm it by pressing the appropriate button, as happens with checking the balance of Internet traffic. An improvised slot machine was waiting for me on the site - the Prize Machine, which had 9 icons on the board, symbolizing prizes from MTS. In the middle there is a smiley face with a tongue - this is a loss. To start the MTS prize machine, you need to click the “Play” button. Three attempts are given.


The first two attempts I got a smiley face. The third time the music icon popped up.


The prize turned out to be two weeks of free use of the GOOD"OK ringtone from the selection. Seriously? Does anyone else use melodies instead of beeps? I don’t need the prize at all - I use the MTS number only in the Internet modem and, by definition, no one can call me. Rules of the promotion I didn’t find any prizes with the slot machine either on the website or in the letter. The inscription on the page says: “Free every day.” Well, I’ll play every day and share with you the information that I managed to win in the end. There will be non-free freebies, like beep melodies.
